Important information about the wedding in St Stephen's Basilica<\/h5>
Price of a wedding ceremony in the year 2025:\u00a0<\/strong> In the church hall 130.000 Ft<\/strong>, in a Mary Chapel 65.000 Ft.<\/strong>The price is payable by bank transfer or by cash in the Parish Office prior to the wedding within the opening hours. The price contains the venue of the Basilica including altar decoration, lighting, closing major part of the interior in front of tourists, organ music for entry and for leaving, as well as the fee of the marrying priest.<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Documents to submit<\/strong><\/h5>
In case of catholic couples the Baptismal Certificate, not older than three months, to be asked for in the Parish office of the baptising church, has to be submitted to the Parish office of the Basilica three months prior to the wedding.<\/div>
In case of protestant couples the Baptismal Certificate or a copy of the Baptism memorial page is needed, which has to be asked for in the baptising church.<\/div>
Education to prepare couples for marriage has to be certified, if it does not take place in the Basilica.<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Education Course in the Basilica to prepare couples for marriage<\/strong><\/h5>\n
Application for the Course, which consists of two theoretical avocations, has to be submitted in the\nParish office at the scheduled times. The two occasions take place in the morning on two Saturdays between 09:00 and 12:00.<\/div>\n
The starting date has to be arranged with the Parish office.<\/div>\n
The details of the ceremony will be discussed with each of the couples in the week of the wedding or\nthe week before.<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Education Course somewhere else<\/strong><\/h5>\n
To participate at the Education Course is obligatory even if it is not possible in the Basilica, because\nthe couple lives far away from Budapest. In this case the couple has to attend the Education Course in a roman catholic church nearby, offering date and time in accordance with the rule of the church.\nAbout attendance at the Course a certification has to be submitted to the Basilica. The certificate will be accepted besides Hungarian also in English, German, French, Italian and Spanish.<\/div>\n

Further information<\/strong><\/h5>
Outside, close to the Basilica 5-6 cars can park during the wedding. Drive in from Bajcsy-Zsilinszky\nstreet, coming from the direction of Western Railway station (Nyugati p\u00e1lyaudvar) is possible. Number of the cars, their brand, type and plate numbers must be given to the Parish office.<\/div>
We call your kind attention, that the interior of the Basilica is not totally closed during the wedding\nceremony, just limited in front of the tourists. Therefore it can happen, that tourists take photos on the married couple.<\/div>
To sprinkle rice or petals either in the church or on the stairs is not allowed.<\/div>
It is allowed to take photos, videos in the church during the wedding ceremony as well as before and after, also at the main entrance.<\/div>
As to the clothing: we kindly request ladies, especially the brides, to cover their back, shoulders and breast in the church.<\/div>
