\n\nIn the central space of the church, there are works depicting the saints of the first\nruling dynasty, the House of \u00c1rp\u00e1d. In one of the sculpture niches under the\ndome, a white marble statue by Alajos Str\u00f3bl depicts the venetian St. Gell\u00e9rt and\nhis tutor, St. Imre. Bishop Gell\u00e9rt was martyred during the pagan revolts.\nAmong the \u00c1rp\u00e1d saints is the lyrical statue by K\u00e1roly Senyei of St. Elizabeth of\n\u00c1rp\u00e1d, a prominent, charitable saint from the Middle Ages. St. L\u00e1szl\u00f3, the\nchivalrous ruler of the House of \u00c1rp\u00e1d, definitively established Christianity in\nHungary. The statue of him is the last work of J\u00e1nos Fadrusz, an outstanding\npersonality in the field of memorial sculpture. The originally planned frescoes\nwere replaced by glass mosaics on the ceiling and dome. The larger ones were\nmade by the Venetian firm Salviati, the smaller ones by the Pest-based\nmanufacturer Miksa R\u00f3th. The mosaics in the main dome were designed by\nK\u00e1roly Lotz and depict the heavens with the figure of God the Father in the\ncentre. The mosaic of the prophets and St. John the Baptist surrounding Christ is\na reference to the relationship between the Old and New Testaments. The fields\nabove the pillars supporting the dome are decorated with the four evangelists\nMatthew, Mark, Luke and John - each with their own attribute. Also, by K\u00e1roly\nLotz are the mosaics on the barrel vault: the birth of Jesus Christ, Jesus the\nTeacher, the resurrection of Jairus' daughter and the Easter Resurrection of Jesus\nChrist.\n\n\n\n<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
