\n\nOn the next altar there is a painting by Gy\u00f6rgy Vastagh of St. Stephen's son,\nPrince St. Imre taking his virginity vows. King Stephen summarised the duties\nof a good ruler for him in his 'Admonitions', and entrusted Bishop Gell\u00e9rt, who\nwas later canonised, with the task of teaching him. Imre prayed a lot, often\ngoing to quiet churches to pray undisturbed. It was at one such night of prayer\nthat he received the divine prompt to take a vow of perpetual chastity. In 1031,\nin preparation for the coronation, a great hunt was held. Tragically, a wild boar\nattacked and mortally wounded him. He died a few days later on the 2\nSeptember 1031, leaving King Stephen without a successor.\nThe bone relic of his mother, Queen Gizella the Blessed, is on the altar in a\nlaced gold reliquary.
