Altar of St. Adalbert

Next to the entrance of the left aisle, a painting by Ignác Roskovics depicts the patron saint of the Esztergom Archdiocese, the former bishop of Prague, St. Adalbert (956-997). The martyred bishop visited Hungary in 994-995, baptising and christening St. Stephen. Adalbert died a martyr's death on the 23rd of April 997 during the conversion of the Baltic peoples (the spears on the altarpiece indicate this). His body was buried in Poland. In 999, he was canonised by Pope Sylvester II, from whom the Hungarian monarch received the royal crown that signified its independence. In 2003, the glass window was decorated with the figure of Saint Lipót (1073- 1136), the patron saint of Austria, who gave his name to the former temporary parish church (and the district). In 2012, the altar cross was replaced by a reliquary bust with a rib bone of Blessed Charles IV (1887-1922), the Hungarian Apostolic King (Emperor of Austria and King of Bohemia) and the last monarch of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. On his shoulder is the decorative collar of the Royal Hungarian Order of St. Stephen which was founded in the 18th century. The Emperor Karl Prayer League is a tribute to the confessor monarch in Central Europe and throughout the world.
Vállain a XVIII. században alapított Magyar Királyi Szent István Rend díszgallérja látható. A hitvalló uralkodó tiszteletét Közép-Európában és világszerte a Károly Király Imaliga ápolja.
